SHOPPING

Come on, let’s get some “Yes, I’ve been to Helsinki” outfits.

In Helsinki, Second Hand Shops are the place to be when it comes to cheap and original material. Especially Fida, Salvation Army or Lähetystori

The Hietalahti Market Square Flea Market is pretty exciting too

such as the Recycling Center, not only for clothes.

We also love the Valtteri Flea Market, it’s such a romantic building with loads of stuff you can spend your well saved money on. At least we did.

As Finnish blogger Laura Tohtua recommends, when you are more into First Hand Shopping, walk around in the Fredrikinkatu area, where we also found this little treasure: the Barber Shop.

"You have a dirty bottom" is one of the slogans of Äx Record Store in the Töölö district! Worth a visit if you like Mc Hammer and Snoop Doggy Dog is The Funkiest. The whole Viiskulma neighbourhood is good for record-shopping!

********************************************************************

We love to bring home some Finnish designer clothes from IVANAhelsinki, because trying on her amazing prints in this beautiful shop with white deer heads watching you just makes us feel so special!

********************************************************************

Tiia Vanhatapio sells excellent dresses and has a stunning artwork for her collections and happenings! She even sells baby clothes if you wanna bring home some Finnish goodie for your next baby shower. Her motto: “IF YOU PAY WITH PEANUTS YOU’LL GET MONKEYS.” YO.

********************************************************************

Who would have thought that some of Sex and the City’s famous handbags are from Helsinki? Hanna Sarén has them, with names like “Miami, Flamingo or Corsica Clutch”. So worth a visit!

Stunning footwear that Beth Ditto also adores, you can find at Minna Parikka

********************************************************************

Do a little shopping for organic and local food from Juuri Shop to impress your friends at home with some finger licking good Finnish dinner.

********************************************************************

Kluuvi Market Hall’s Eat & Joy wants you to indulge in their smoked fish, fresh milk that you can buy in metal containers and oven-cooked porridge on their milk bar. Their oven is heated by birch logs! Drag your Finnish cutie from last night there and tell him to prepare you some tasty meal in his apartment!
